American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois issues statement on Fiscal Year 2024 State Budget

SPRINGFIELD – The American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois (ACEC Illinois) released the following statement regarding the Fiscal Year 2024 State Budget:

“We applaud Governor Pritzker and the legislature for passing a budget that continues to prioritize the state’s commitment to ReBuild Illinois and the adequate funding of road, air, rail and other infrastructure projects throughout our state,” said Kevin Artl, president and CEO of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois. “We are encouraged by the provision of funding for transformative projects such as the modernization of the I-290 Blue Line, the IDOT Township bridge program; and the student loan assistance pilot program to help IDOT attract skilled engineers to work on the state’s most critical infrastructure projects. Engineers across the state will continue to work with Illinois policymakers to sustain needed investments in engineering workforce development programs and infrastructure projects that will keep our state competitive and ultimately boost the economy.”
