Anthony “Tony” B. Tweedy Sr., 64, of Red Bud, Illinois, formerly of Okawville, Illinois, passed away at 9:28 am, Sunday, May 28, 2023 at his residence.
He was born to the late Robert M. and Gladys A. (nee Whitaker) Tweedy on June 22, 1958 in East St. Louis, Illinois.
Tony married Brenda Bourbon on February 5, 1982 at Olive Branch Lutheran Church in Okawville, Illinois, she survives.
He had worked as a railroad engineer for Alton and Southern Railroad for 20 years.
He was a member of Olive Branch Lutheran Church in Okawville, Illinois. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching Cardinal’s baseball and Blues hockey. He loved attending all his grandchildren’s activities and also collected model trains.

Wife: Brenda Tweedy of Red Bud, Ill.; two children: Liz (Adam) Cowell of Red Bud, Ill. and Anthony “Tony” (Rachel) Tweedy, Jr. of Nashville, Ill.; four grandchildren: Estella and Maverick Cowell
and Leah and Elly Edwards; four siblings: Mark (Rita) Tweedy of Okawville, Ill., Carey Dulle of Jacksonville, Fla.; Geraldine Bordewisch of Cottondale, Ala. and Christine (Jerry) Leopold of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister-in-law: Laurie Kay Bourbon LaMar of Okawville, Ill. and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert amd Gladys Tweedy, his in-laws: Clarence and Grace Bourbon, a brother: Robert M. Tweedy, Jr., a sister: Linda Cocklin and three brothers-in-law: Randy Bordewisch, Kevin Dulle and Jim LaMar.
Graveside Service: 11:00 am, Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Olive Branch Lutheran Cemetery, Okawville, Ill. Officiating: Pastor Tim Mueller.
