Volleyball

JACKSON – Saxony Lutheran beat Clayton 25-12, 25-12 and 25-22.

 

Soccer

JACKSON – Saxony Lutheran beat Gateway Science Charter School 8-1 in the Class 1 District 1 Tournament.

Saxony plays Metro Saturday in the Class 1 State Tournament at Saxony.

 

PERRYVILLE – St. Vincent beat St. Louis Notre Dame 3-2. Saturday to win the Class 3 District 1 tournament in Imperial.

The Indians play Ursuline Academy in the Class 3 State Tournament Saturday.

 

Track and Field

STE. GENEVIEVE – Valle boys finished in 27th place with 11 points and the Valle girls team was among six teams tied for 35th with six points at the State Class 2 State Meet at Saturday.

 

Individually:

 

Boys:

William Kuehn (10) came in fifth in the 800-meter run (2:01.09) for four points.   

 

4×800 boys came in fifth (8:24.44) for four points. 

 

Joseph Flieg (12) came in sixth in the pole vault (3.9m,12-09.5) for three points.          

 

Girls:

Ava Bauman (9) came in fifth in the 800-meter run (2:24.0) for four points

 

4×800 girls came in seventh (10:25.52) for two points.

 

Madelyn Griffard (10) came in ninth in the 1600-meter run (5:26.55). and 10th in the 3200-meter run (12:13.78).

 

JACKSON – Saxony Lutheran participated in the Class 2 state meet.

 

Abigail Haley (10) came in 15th in the 100 meter hurdles 17.62

 

PERRYVILLE – St. Vincent participated in the Class 1 State Meet and scored three points and finished in an eight-way tie for 52nd.

 

Jacob Schremp (11) came in sixth in the shot put (39.84m, 130-08) earning the teaam’s only points.           

 

4×800 relay came in 13th (9:00.95)

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve boys participated in the Class 3 Sectional meet at Hillsboro Saturday and came in 12th out of 22 teams. Paul Taylor came in first in the shot put and third in the javelin and Ayden Butcher came in third in the pole vault. Both athletes will advance to the state track meet in Jefferson City Friday and Saturday.

 

PERRYVILE – Perryville participated in the Class 4 Sectional 1 meet at Hillsboro Saturday. MSHSAA said no results had been posted as of Sunday.

CHESTER – In Illinois: Chester’s Paige Vasquez placed 10th in the shot put in the girls state track and field meet, while Lannin Caron qualified in the pole vault and Gabe Steele in the high jump both qualified for the boys state track meet this week.

 

Softball

STE. GENEVIEVE – Valle plays Ellington today at 11 a.m. in a state semifinal round game at Springfield.
