A funeral will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2023 for 78-year-old Nancy Decker, formerly of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 12:05 pm, Saturday, April 22, 2023 at DuQuoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, DuQuoin, Illinois.
She was born April 4, 1945 in Red Bud, Illinois. to Albert C. and Imelda Mary Margaret (nee Obernuefemann) Gray who both preceded her in death.
Nancy married Gerald Decker on December 14, 1980 in Chester, Illinois; he preceded her in death on May 23, 2014.
She is survived by two daughters: Lorene (Tim) Hurt of DuQuoin, IL and Rebecca (Eric) Rahlfs Murphysboro, IL; a son: Brian Pfleger of Jasper, GA; two siblings: Bill (Linda) Gray of Chester, IL and Kathleen Gray of Albuquerque, NM; three grandchildren: Addyson, Luke and Mackenzy Rahlfs
and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a sister: Mary Graham.
She was a homemaker and had worked as a custodian for Gilster Mary-Lee in her younger years.
Nancy was of the Christian Faith.
She enjoyed baking, singing, reading the Bible, gardening and sewing. Her favorite thing was spending time with family.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Pechacek Funeral Homes, Chester, Illinois

Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Chester, Illinois
