By Head Golf Coach Ryan Mueller

STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve Golf Team played North County in a dual April 18.

Ste. Genevieve took second at the match shooting a 184 while North County took first with a 153.

The low score for the team was Aiden Boyer with a 40.

Aiden was able to play with great course management skills. Aiden was able to have some excellent shots from all over the course. He had done the best on the greens while making several pars. Aiden hadn’t shot anything over a bogey today. He had 4 bogeys and 5 pars on his scorecard.

Next lowest was Jayden Rhinehart with a 43.

Jayden played one of the best rounds so far this season. Jayden’s best shot was on hole 2 with a 60 yard shot that nearly made the cup for an eagle. The shot was within inches. He was able to secure a birdie. Jayden was playing his driver extremely well today, and it put him in some great positions to shoot his low score. He was also excellent around the green today.

Next was Carter Burr.

Carter had a pretty good round as well. He ended up with a 48. He wasn’t able to par a hole, but he was able to keep his score low by only having two holes with a bogey. Carter was able to have some excellent short game throughout his day. His beset club was his five iron being able to play smart on somewhat short par 4s.

Next was Gavin Huck with a 53.

Gavin did not have the round he expected, but there were certainly bright spots throughout the round. Gavin’s best part of his round was being able to bounce back after a tough hole and finish out his round by getting two pars in a row on his last two holes.

Next was Braden Huck with a 54.

Braden was able to to stay inside the fifties by being able to by having great recovery shots throughout his round. Braden’s best hole was a par five where he successfully parred the hole with a great putt.

Landen Thompson is next with a 62.

Landen did have the round is was hoping for. This was his first varsity match, and he was able to play with a great mental game and had fun with it as well.
