A funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 20, 2023 for 66-year-old Joni D. Searles of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 4:24 pm, Sunday, January 15, 2023 at her residence.
She was born August 19, 1956 in Wood River, Illinois daughter of the late Clyde L. and Judith (nee Jones) Searles.
She is survived by two sisters: Jill (Keith) Lund of Pottsboro, Tex. and Jane (Wayne) Hawkins of Pottsboro, Tex.; an aunt: Marie Dealey of East Alton, Ill.; nieces and nephews: Amy (Allen) Gardner, Bryan (Krista) Lund, Seth Hawkins and Emma Hawkins; great nieces and nephews: Michael, Gabriel and Benjamin Gardner and Emily and Victoria Lund and many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Melvin Searles.
Joni had worked in the Administrative Office at Gilster Mary-Lee Corporation.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois.
Joni was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Beta Nu Chapter and served on the Popeye Committee for many years.
She enjoyed crafting, art and decorating for all kinds of special occasions.
Joni loved her family, her friends, her friend’s children and her sorority sisters and so many more have been blessed by her love, friendship and endless gifts and crafts.
She will be missed beyond words.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2023 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois.
A memorial service for 66-year-old Joni D. Searles of Chester, Illinois will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2023 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois. The Rev. Timothy Sims will officiate.
Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran School and Beta Sigma Phi.
