Charles W. Gibbar

Charles W. Gibbar, 92, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022 at The Estates of Perryville.

He was born June 1, 1930 in Silver Lake, MO to Lester F. and Mary Zula (Newell) Gibbar.

He and Monica Mae McDowell were married January 26, 1952 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

He was a member of the National Guard for 43 years and also a member of the American Legion Post #133, Carpenters’ Union #2022 and 2030, and the Country Music Association of St. Mary. He was a talented carpenter and enjoyed building and repairing.

He was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, and formerly St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Silver Lake.

Survivors include two sons, Garry Gibbar, Michael Gibbar; Daughter, Pat (Dale) Schamburg; five grandchildren, Robert (Shelly) Schamburg, Timothy (Jessica) Schamburg, Krystle (Joseph Hacker) Schamburg, Dawn (Sam Mercer) Seals, Dustin Seals; ten great-grandchildren, Marissa (Jesse) Francis, Maci Schamburg, Montana Schamburg, MaKenna Schamburg, Austin Schamburg, Quint Schamburg, Kennadie Schamburg, Kole Hacker, Jayden Seals, Connor Seals; three great-great grandchildren, Jaci Schamburg, Hagen Francis, Hallen Francis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Randy Gibbar; daughter, Teresa Marie Seals; sister, Mary Lou McDowell; two brothers, Bernard N. Gibbar, Dale J. Gibbar; great-grandchildren, Lyla Talley, Leo Talley.

Visitation will be 10:00 am to 11:30 am on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.

Funeral Service will be at 11:30 am Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville with Deacon Direk Hunt officiating.

Burial will be at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Silver Lake.

Memorial contributions may be given to Missouri National Veterans Memorial.
