Leonard Alvin Moll

A funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022 for 92-year-old Leonard Alvin Moll of Saint Mary, who passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at his home.

 

He was born March 21, 1930 in St. Mary, Mo., a son of Simeon “Simon” W. Moll and Hazel A. (Miller) Moll, who both preceded in death.

 

He married Gladys (Denninger) Moll April 15, 1950 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Kaskaskia Island, Illinois. She survives in St. Mary.

 

He is also survived by two sons: Leonard J. (Mary) Moll of Perryville, Mo., and Leslie B. (Kathy) Moll of Saint Mary, Mo.; a daughter: Brenda S. (Larry) Thompson of Saint Mary, Mo.; six grandchildren: Scott Moll, Mariah Crownover, Samuel Thompson, Amanda Tucker, Jeremiah Moll and Rheanna Wolk; and 14 great-grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Edna (William) Bruckerhoff and Dorothy (James) Linderer; a brother: Roy Lee (Betty) Moll and a son: a baby boy.

 

He worked at the Mississippi Lime Company for 42 years.

 

He liked to hunt, fish and play Bingo.

 

He was a kind man and a loving husband and father.

 

He will be greatly missed.

 

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2022 and 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022 at Basler Funeral Home.

 

A funeral for 92-year-old Leonard Alvin Moll of Saint Mary will be held at Basler Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022.

 

Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in St. Mary, MO.

 

Memorials may be made to St. Mary Immaculate Conception Church Preservation Society or to the family.
