A funeral will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 for 74-year-old Ralph Louis Skorcz of Ellis Grove, Illinois, who passed away at 3:24 am, Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home, Chester, Illinois.
He was born May 10, 1948 in DuQuoin, the son of Leo and Zettie (nee Brown) Skorcz who both preceded him in death.
Ralph married Alice Hartmann on December 17, 1977 in Ellis Grove, Illinois; she preceded him in death on October 14, 1992.
He is survived by two children: John (Amber) Skorcz of Chester, Ill. and Amy (John) Triplett of Marion, Ill.; six grandchildren: James, Alisa, Ethan, Kari, Annalynn and Carson and a special friend: Mary Loos.
He was also preceded in death by a son: Eric Skorcz, five brothers and a sister.
He had worked as a prison guard at Menard Correctional Center in Chester, Illinois for 31 years.
Ralph was of the Catholic Faith.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Ralph was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved cheering on the Chester Yellow Jackets.
Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play ball.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, Ill.

Interment will be in the Ellis Grove City Cemetery, Ellis Grove, Ill.
