STE. GENEVIEVE – In a statement posted to its Facebook page, the Ste. Genevieve National Histori Park announced the closing of one of historic homes in the park – the Bauvais-Amoureux house.
The statement said:
“These historic homes haven’t stood so long on good craftsmanship alone (although that certainly has helped)! Over the years, keeping each home in good shape has taken a lot of love and resources. The Bauvais-Amoureux House will be receiving some needed love this fall and winter to ensure it continues to stand tall for future generations.
“The Bauvais-Amoureux House will be closed to the public beginning Monday, October 10, for a roofing project. That makes this weekend the last chance to tour the Bauvais-Amoureux House before spring!
“Starting October 10, our daily program schedule will be as follows:
10:30 Green Tree Tavern
11:30 Jean Baptiste Vallé House
1:30 Green Tree Tavern
2:30 Jean Baptiste Vallé House
