A funeral will be held Friday, September 30, 2022 for 56-year-old Gary “Wormy” Abt of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. who passed away Monday, September 26, 2022 at his home in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
He was born August 17, 1966 in Perryville, Mo.
He is survived by a daughter: Kacie Abt (Alex Hughes) of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; seven brothers: John (Helen) Abt of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Charles (Shirley) Abt of the state of Tennessee, Bill Abt of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Robert (Gail) Abt of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Kenneth (Elizabth) Abt of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Donald (Diane) Abt of Saint Mary, Mo., and Larry (JoAnn) Abt of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; six sisters: Mary (Richard) Stoll of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Cathy (David) Gegg of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Norma Knapp of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Patricia (Xavier) Lipp of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., JoAnn (Kenneth) Basler of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., and Cynthia (Jerome) Viox of Sainte Genevieve, Mo; a brother-in-law: Ron Huber, Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; and grandchildren, Kinsley and Maverick Hughes.
He was preceded in death by his father: Alphonse Abt; mother: Leona (Wolk) Abt; brother: Gilbert E. Abt; and a sister: Gloria J. Huber.
He was a member of Ste. Gen. Jaycee Club, Ste. Gen. Eagles Club and Sons of the Am. Legion. Wormy enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be 4-8 pm. Thursday and 8-10 a.m. Friday at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.

Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve, MO
