Marcella Viola Donze passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the age of 97.
She was born November 20, 1924 in Farmington, Mo., to the late Oscar Donze and Bessie V. (Rosener) Donze.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Rosener and Mr. and Mrs. Frank K. Donze.
Marcella was an athlete that enjoyed several sports.
She was the pitcher for the Rice Stix Girls in the YMCA Girls League.
She led the Bowling League Team with single score of 199 and a high three of 537. She played on the newly formed Volleyball Team as well. Marcella graduated from Farmington High School on May 22, 1942.
Marcella went to college in St. Louis for a time and then worked for her father’s business of Donze Motor & Imp. Co. as his accountant.
After her father’s death, Marcella continued to care for her mother.
Marcella was also known for her love of Chow Chows. She had many, but Gracie was her favorite.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington.
Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington.
