Enoch S. Olson

Enoch S. Olson, 94, of Chester, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord at 8:47 am, Sunday, July 24, 2022 at the Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home, Chester, Illinois.

 

He was born to the late Albert O. and Nettie M. (nee Schlining) Olson on July 24, 1928 in Milledgeville, Illinois.

 

Enoch married Dorothy Birely on July 20, 1947 in Rock Island, Illinois; she preceded him in death on July 2, 2011. To this union seven children were born.

 

He had been a farmer and also a coal miner for Amax Coal Company for 20 years.

 

His life was well lived as a member of the First Baptist Church in Chester, Illinois and closely associated with the First Baptist Church of Ellis Grove. He was a member of the UMWA, and a lifetime member of the Pinckneyville Fire Department, and Interstate Producers Livestock Association.

Enoch donated his body to SIU School of Medicine in Carbondale, Illinois.
