June M. Kempfer

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 for 88-year-old June M. Kempfer of Evansville, Ill., who passed away at 1:34 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, Illinois.

 

She was born August 28, 1933 in Sparta, Ill. to Harry and Regina (nee Kiefer) Glenn who both preceded her in death.

 

June married Albert F. “Jim” Kempfer on April 19, 1952 in Evansville, Illinois; he preceded her in death on November 28, 2019.

 

She is surived by five children: Pam (Dean) Brueggemann of Evansville, Ill., Kim (Jr.) Wilson of Red Bud, Ill., James “Butch” Kempfer of Coulterville, Ill., Larry (Kim) Kempfer of Evansville, Ill., and Darren (Missy) Kempfer of Evansville, Ill.; a son in law: Rob Hanger of Sparta, Ill.; two brothers: Harry (Rosanne) Glenn of Prairie du Rocher, Ill., and Roger (Phyllis) Glenn of Troy, Ill., a brother in law: Kenny Kempfer of Tilden, Ill.; a sister in law: Connie Kempfer of Perryville, Mo.; 10 grandchildren: Shane (Cari) Manning, Tim Brueggemann, Bethany (Rob) Wunderlich, Chad (Laura) Kempfer, Jesse Kempfer, Sean Kempfer, Lucas Kempfer, Cierra Kempfer, Kelly(Jerry) Carpenter and Keith (Nikki) Kempfer; 14 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Debbie Hanger; a sister: Sally Bierman and a brother: Robert Glenn.

 

June worked at International Shoe Company in Evansville, Illinois and later worked at Hardee’s in Sparta, Illinois.

 

She was member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Evansville, Illinois.

 

June enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, going dancing and visiting with people.

 

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s United Church of Christ, Evansville, Illinois.

 

A memorial service for 88-year-old June M. Kempfer of Evansville will be held at 11 a.m, Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the St. John’s United Church of Christ, Evansville, Illinois. Kevin Hirsch will officiate.

 

Inurnment will be in the Evansville City Cemetery, Evansville, Illinois
