Friends of Hawn Association is concerned about proposed silica mine in Ste. Genevieve County

The Friends of Hawn Association is deeply concerned about the possibility of a Silica Mine in Sainte Genevieve County. The hazardous materials produced by such a mine can have long term negative impacts on the local watershed and will result in deterioration of one of the one of the scenic treasures of Missouri: Sainte Genevieve County.

HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN DO RIGHT NOW:

FIRST: Email: bill.zeaman@dnr.mo.gov with “I request a public meeting concerning the permit application involving Nexgen Silica” in the subject line. This will put you on a list along with others who have requested a public meeting.

NOTE! The public notice comment period closes on April 28, 2022. We do not yet have a date, time, or location for the public meeting, once the meeting is scheduled we keep you updated.
