Stanley M. Sauer

A funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022 for 75-year-old Stanley M. Sauer of Red Bud, Ill., who passed away at 3:48 a.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Integrity Healthcare of Columbia, Columbia, Illinois.

 

He was born December 28, 1946 in Red Bud, Ill. the son of Milton and Almaneda (nee Becker) Sauer who both preceded him in death.

 

Stanley married Nancy Ann Harbaugh on April 22, 1972 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Prairie du Rocher, Illinois; she preceded him in death on November 1, 2013.

 

He is survived by five children: Kevin Sauer of Ruma, Ill., Scott (Shara) Sauer of Red Bud, Randy Sauer (Danielle Muertz) of Red Bud, Rhonda (Keith) Juelfs of Red Bud and Angela (Philip) Shields of Red Bud; two brothers: Bill (Bonnie) Sauer of Prairie du Rocher, Ill. and Mike (Peggy) Sauer of Red Bud, Ill.; seven grandchildren: Dylan, Joshua, Mikayla, Katie, Ethan, Elizabeth and Isabelle and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

He was also preceded in death by a brother: Dean Sauer and a grandson: Evan Shields.

 

He was a lifelong dairy farmer.

 

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Red Bud, Illinois, V.F.W. Post No. 6632 in Red Bud, Illinois and had been post commander in 1972-1973, American Legion Post No. 622 in Prairie du Rocher, Illinois and the Randolph County Farm Bureau. He also was an FFA Alumni.

 

He was a Vietnam War Army veteran and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

 

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Red Bud.

 

A funeral mass for 75-year-old Stanley M. Sauer of Red Bud will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud,

Msgr. Dennis Schaefer will officiate.

 

Interment will be in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Red Bud.

 

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Red Bud.
