William Donald Vickers Jr.

A funeral will be held Monday, January 24, 2022 for 71-year-old William Donald Vickers Jr. of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. who passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at his home in Sainte Genevieve.

 

He was born November 23, 1950 in St. Louis, the son of William Donald Vickers Sr. and Velva Marie (Call) Vickers, who both preceded him in death.

 

He married Donna (Eck) Vickers on January 25, 1974. She survives in Sainte Genevieve.

 

He is also survived by a son: Robert (Kristi) Vickers of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; a daughter: Tera Lynn (John) Fry of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a sister: Debra Lee Dees of Ina, Ill.; three granddaughters: Amanda Kirsten Walls of Broken Arrow, Okla., Sydney Elaine (Garrett) Siebuhr of Sedalia, Mo., Olivia Rogan Vickers of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; a grandson: Marshall Lee Fry of Sedalia, Mo.; great-granddaughter: Darlene Elizabeth Walls of Ashburn, Virginia; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

 

He was also preceded in death by an aunt: Nellie May Smith; an uncle: Iva James Smith; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2022 and 8-10 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve.

 

A funeral for 71-year-old William Donald Vickers Jr. of Sainte Genevieve will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Basler Funeral Home. The Rev. Craig Reiter will officiate.

 

Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis Monday, January 24, 2022 at 12:30 p.m.

 

Memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice or to the Missouri National Veterans Memorial in Perryville.

 

Bill proudly served his country in the US Army from December 1969 to August 1992. He served in the Viet Nam War, and at Fort Carson Colorado, Amburg Germany, Bamburg Germany, Wildflecken Germany, and Fort Knox Kentucky.

 

He was a member of the VFW Post 2210, Elks Lodge, National Rifle Association, Elder at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, and Illinois-Missouri Roadriders Motorcycle Club.
