SGCMH, Access Physicians launch tele-hospitalist program

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital (SGCMH) is partnering with the nation’s leading multi-specialty telemedicine group Access Physicians to provide tele-hospitalist services for its patients. Both will work together to deliver high-quality inpatient care.

Through the partnership, healthcare providers at SGCMH can connect with Access Physicians, board-certified tele-hospitalist via secure, high resolution technology in minutes. SGCMH providers and staff have access to telemedicine and hybrid programs for both day and night coverage.

“Access Physicians prides itself on working with forward-thinking hospitals to enhance the delivery of clinical excellence locally,” said Chris Gallagher, M.D., CEO, Access Physicians. “Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital has a tradition of innovation and implementation of best practices, and we look forward to working with them to further this tradition.”

Access Physicians Nurse Practitioner, Christina Tice will oversee the project at the hospital working alongside hospital staff.  Her role will be to coordinate patient care and provide support for on-site clinical teams.

“With inpatient care increasingly focused on patients with complex, high acuity conditions, having a hospitalist to manage and coordinate patient care is essential,” stated Tice. “I am excited to be working at SGCMH.”

As a team, both organizations expect to improve operations and have quality results including reduced care delivery costs.

“Partnering with Access Physicians aligns with our core values of innovation, excellence, and teamwork,” said Steve Pautler, DPS, MHA, BSN, FACHE, and CEO, Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital. “Our patients rely on us to be there for them, no matter their health care need. With the tele-hospitalist program, we can increase timeliness of care, reduce length of stay and improve patient satisfaction.

Because our health system is so well integrated, the hospitalists will have ready access to our patient’s primary care physicians and nurse practitioners, so the care can be consistent no matter where it’s needed.”
