STE. GENEVIEVE — Here is a taste of what this year’s event has to offer.
Historic Sites/Homes:
Beauvais-Amoureux House (National Park Service)
* Apple pressing demonstration (free)
* Children’s games (free): sack races & game of graces
Centre for French Colonial Life (inside; admission charged)
* French 18th century bread recipes and needlework demo.
& LeMeilleur/Bolduc yards (outdoors; free) –
* living history crafts including gunsmithing, woodworking, leather working
~ Exhibits in centre will be open; regularly scheduled house tours offered as well ~
Felix Vallé House
* downstairs open for free guided tours from costumed interpreters from 10-3.
* Dennis Stroughmatt concert 1-3 on back porch.
*Civil War group will be stationed in the backyard
* Powder Horn demonstrations with Ted Mueller
* Free Scarecrow building programs in the yard at 10:30, 11:30, 1:30, and 2:30 (just bring some old overalls or suspenders, and a long sleeve shirt, or simply a onesie)
* McPhail Custom Leatherworks will be set up in the back yard

* Spinning Demonstrations by Deb Cambron
* Colonial food historian Suzanne Corbett

Green Tree Tavern
* library staff will be doing story time
Guibourd-Valle House
* guided tours from costumed docents from 11:00 – 4:00 pm (donations accepted/appreciated)
* Tatting (technique for handcrafting a particularly durable lace from a series of knots and loops) and chair caning demonstrations on the porch (free)
* 4:00 pm: Meet the Spirits (in the garden) – sneak peak for the evening’s Déjà vu Spirit Reunion
*4:45 pm: Spirit Parade to the cemetery
Memorial Cemetery
* 5:00 – 8:00 pm – Déjà vu Spirit Reunion (adults $10, youth 6-18 $5, 5 and under are free)
Museum Learning Center

Music:
11:00 am – 1:00 pm: German Band playing at the pergola on Main and Merchant Streets
1:00 – 3:00 pm: Dennis Stroughmatt concert on the back porch of the Felix Vallé House

* Merchants on Main Street will have German food and a Biergarten
* Burgers & drinks will be available for purchase at Sassafras Creek

Brix Urban Winery and Market (245 Merchant St.) is celebrating their 1 year birthday with a Birthday Bash. There will be Mead Trivia Flights, Door Prizes all day, and free Treats (while they last), and they have a bit more in the works! 11:00 am – 7:00 pm
First Presbyterian Church (160 S. Main St.) is holding their annual book/bake sale from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Pat’s Pastries (123 Merchant St.) will have a quilting demonstration. They are still deciding on a special, but they have yet to disappoint us with any of their creations!
