YMCA shares updates on programs and Sports Complex use

STE. GENEVIEVE –  Families will be pleased to learn that the Ste. Genevieve County YMCA has added Child Watch, a new service designed to support parents while they focus on their wellness goals. Child Watch allows household members to bring their children ages 6 weeks to 7 years for supervised care while adults use the facility. This addition reflects the Y’s ongoing commitment to making healthy living accessible for the entire family.

In addition, the Y is pleased to announce its first session of swim lessons. Swim lesson registration is currently open. This inaugural session begins March 3rd and will serve children age 3 – 12 with more offerings becoming available in future sessions. Lessons are 30-minutes in a group setting. The current session of lessons is one time per week for 8 weeks. Weeks within a session will vary seasonally.  The Y plans to make private lessons available late in 2025.

Both Child Watch hours and Swim Lesson registration information can be found at www.gwrymca.org/locations/ste-genevieve-county-ymca

The Y also addressed recent questions regarding teams and leagues renting the Progress Sports Complex indoor courts, outdoor fields and Challenger Baseball field. The Y confirms that no sports teams have been asked to leave the Sports Complex facilities or outdoor fields. The Y is proud to serve the many teams and athletes who consider the complex their home court. Furthermore, rental rates at the Progress Sports Complex have not been adjusted since early 2025, and the Y has no plans to change league rental rates. While cost of living increases could be possible in future years, 2026 rates remain at the 2025 rate levels. The Y is happy to continue supporting all teams and organizations that use the facility and values strong partnerships built within the local sports community.

Kris Fulford, Executive Director said “The Ste. Genevieve County YMCA appreciates the continued support of the community and looks forward to serving local families, athletes, and organizations for years to come.”
