CHESTER – The Mississippi Valley Art Guild has announce the addition of Will Harris to its membership, as well as his selection as Artist of the Month for June 2025.
Harris, a resident of Chester and former owner of 1st Class Auto, currently works at Flex-line Automation Inc.
His affinity for working with his hands is evident in his work as a multi media artist, where he creates large-scale pieces from recycled and repurposed materials, such as transforming old metal beds into benches and crafting flags from vintage barn tin. Harris also explores various mediums, including leather carving, painting, and photography, with a particular passion for capturing landscapes, architecture, riverboats, and vintage autos/trucks through his lens.
In his free time, Harris enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and converting an old school bus into an RV.
His photography is showcased in various locations throughout Chester, including Buena Vista Bank, Southern Illinois Eye Center, the public library, Chester Memorial Hospital and Reids’ Harvest House, as well as at the MVAG gallery, where his leather carvings are also on display.
The guild convenes on the last Monday of each month at 6 p.m. on 611 State Street.
