Virtual Fence Foundations Webinar Series begins Friday

JEFFERSON CITY = Calling all livestock grazers looking to increase current grazing efforts without the stress of fencing! Virtual fencing is an emerging technology that uses GPS enabled collars to create invisible fence boundaries. Join the Center for Regenerative Agriculture, MU Extension, The Fertilizer Control Board, and Missouri Cattleman’s for an educational and engaging a 5-part webinar series that dives into the opportunity of virtual fencing through educational topics and firsthand experiences. Webinars will be held the last Friday of the month from 12 to 1 p.m.

Session Lineup:

  • June 27 – The Basics: An introduction to what virtual fencing is, how it works, as well as some cost share options.
  • July 25 – Cropland: Have a look into when and how to use virtual fencing to capitalize on these temporary forages.
  • August 29 – Perennial Pastures: Learn about intensive grazing management techniques in relation to forage availability on perennial pastures.
  • September 26 – Nutrient Management: Join us for a discussion on pasture fertility management
    and how virtual fencing might be a tool for nutrient distribution.
  • October 24 – Producers and Providers: Hear firsthand from producers and companies currently
    working with virtual fencing.
