JEFFERSON CITY – Two teen-aged boys were hurt in a traffic crash on Colony Church Road in Ste. Genevieve County Saturday evening.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 16-year-old from Farmington went to Parkland Health Center for treatment of minor injuries and an 18-year-old from Fredericktown went to Mercy Hospital South for treatment of moderate injuries.
The patrol report states the crash happened when the 2007 Dodge Dakota the 16-year-old was driving west on Colony Church Road going too fast for the roadway’s condition. The Dakota failed to negotiate a curve. After exiting the curve the driver lost control and over-corrected and the Dakota slid off the right side of the roadway, striking an embankment and overturning on to the roadway, coming to rest on its top, blocking the roadway, facing west.
Neither teen was buckled up.
The Dakota was a total loss and was removed by Boyd’s Towing.
The crash happened about 8:20 p.m. west of Genevieve Church Road.
