Tip Leads Chester Police to Firearms, Explosives and Drugs; Sparta Man Arrested

On August 11th, 2026 while acting on a tip, the Chester Police Department searched a property in Chester where they recovered numerous firearms, an explosive, drugs and drug paraphernalia. This subsequently led to the arrest of 61 yr old Bartt Glodo of Sparta, IL by the U.S. Marshal’s Service on Wednesday, August 19th. Glodo was found to be staying in rural Sparta in a camper on Beattie Ln .  We would like to thank the Secretary of State Police Bomb Squad, The U.S. Marshal’s Service, the ATF, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, and the Sparta Police Department for their assistance in the investigation.
