Time for ladies to put their Health First!

STE. GENEVIEVEIn recognition of Women’s Health Month, Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital (SGCMH) is joining national leaders in highlighting the importance of women’s physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. This year’s observance aligns with the 2026 federal theme,

“Prevention, Innovation, and Impact: A New Era in Women’s Health,” which underscores the need for proactive, sciencedriven approaches to care across every stage of a woman’s life.

Women’s Health Month serves as a powerful reminder that health outcomes are shaped long before symptoms appear. Federal health agencies emphasize that routine screenings, early detection, and preventive care remain essential tools for reducing the risk of chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and osteoporosis.

“Women deserve access to trusted information, innovative care, and the resources needed to make informed decisions about their health,” national leaders affirmed during the 2026 observance. The Administration has highlighted ongoing efforts to improve affordability, expand research, and address longoverlooked conditions such as infertility, endometriosis, and autoimmune diseases.

This year also brings a renewed focus on nutrition as a cornerstone of longterm health, with the FDA’s “Know Your Nutrition” initiative offering sciencebased tools to help women navigate food labels, understand updated nutrition claims, and make healthier choices for themselves and their families.
