Thomas “Tom” P. Unterreiner

Thomas “Tom” P. Unterreiner, 81, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Monday, September 7, 2026 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

He was born October 20, 1944 in Perryville, MO to Sylvester “Sonny” and Laura “Polly” (Guyot) Unterreiner.

Tom and Julie (Besand) Brickhaus were married February 13, 1999 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, MO.

He retired from Advanced Business Systems after 42 years working as a Repairman and Service Manager. Tom served as an usher at St. Vincent de Paul Parish for many years. He loved playing cards, fishing, especially trout fishing at Montauk State Park, and his dog Dolly, named after Dolly Parton.

Tom was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus Council #1263, American Legion Post #133 Booster, Perry County Sportsman Club, and Perryville Elks Lodge #2701. He was also a former member of the VFW Post #4282 and AmVets Post #94.

Survivors include his wife, Julie Unterreiner; step-son, Brian (Amy) Brickhaus of Perryville, MO; three step-daughters, Angela (Ron) Herman of Perryville, MO, Wendy Merritt of Fayetteville, NC, Kelly Martin of Fenton, MO; brother, David (Evelyn) Unterreiner of Perryville, MO; fourteen grandchildren, Tylee (Tyler) LeGrand, Ashley, Sarah, Matthew, Jacob, and Gabrielle Gremaud, Carter Herman, Nicole Merritt, Alex (Makayla), Luke, Garrett, and Adam Brickhaus, Olivia and Henry Martin; two great-grandchildren, Gabriel Werle and Elijah Gremaud.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph Unterreiner; two sisters, Dorthy Fluegel and Ruth Wood.

Visitation will be from 8:00 am to 9:30 am on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Saturday, September 12, 2026 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with Rev. Fred Wandera C.M. officiating.

Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Schools.
