A funeral will be held Friday, September 12, 2025 for 76-year-old Thomas Russell Elder of Perryville, Missouri who passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at his residence.
He was born August 8, 1949 in St. Louis, MO to Russell and Gladys (Bass) Elder who both preceded him in death.
Tom and Juanita Cissell were married September 7, 1968 in Perryville. She survives him in Perryville.
Survivors also include two sons: Mark (Tori) Elder, and Danny (Laura) Elder; two daughters: Kim (Roy) Richardet and Jennifer (Shane Wilson) Elder; 12 grandchildren: Hunter Elder, Hayden Elder, Zachary (Holly) Elder, Hannah Elder, Tiffany (Joe) Schwent, Hailey (Joey) Bauwens, Trent (Morgan) Richardet, Garrett (Amber Elder) Richardet, Chase Richardet, Shelby (Brayden) Cox, Lane Wilson, SJ Wilson; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son: Scott Elder; and three sisters: Cynthia Wilson, Virginia Meister, and JoAnn Moore.
He retired as a quality control manager from General Motors after 31 years.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Perry County Sportsman Club, Knights of Columbus Council No. 1263 and Perryville Bass Casters.
Tom enjoyed puzzles, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs.
Visitation will be 7-9:30 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2025 at the Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
A funeral mass for 76-year-old Thomas Russell Elder of Perryville, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2025 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with the Rev. Joe Geders C.M. officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to Perry County Sportsman Club Special Projects.
