The Foundation for Restoration of Ste. Genevieve will once again present a festive opportunity for ticket holders to explore some of the community’s most charming historic properties during the 2025 Holiday House Tour. The third annual tour will take place on Saturday, December 13, from 3–6 pm. Guests will begin their self-guided experience at the Foundation-maintained Guibourd-Vallé House at 1 North Fourth Street, where admission to the home—including a visit to the attic featuring its remarkable Norman Truss construction—is included with ticket purchase. As in years past, Foundation members will adorn the house with handmade decorations crafted from pine, magnolia, boxwood cuttings, and other natural materials.

From there, guests will continue to six additional stops, each beautifully and uniquely decorated for the season. While the participating homes vary in style and period, visitors can expect to see a variety of homes, including some homes new to our tour.

Because some are historic homes, accessibility may be limited; most will offer tours of the main floor only, though some may provide access to additional levels or display photographs of areas not open for viewing.
Along the route, ticket holders can also look forward to a few festive surprises. In addition to interior and exterior holiday décor, some homeowners will offer light refreshments and select stops may feature seasonal music.

“Our Foundation-sponsored tours continue to grow in popularity,” said tour organizer Susie Johnson. “This year’s Holiday House Tour offers a rare chance to step inside homes that are typically not open to the public, each with its own distinctive holiday charm. We encourage guests to begin their tour by 3:30 pm to ensure they have ample time to enjoy all seven stops.”
Advance tickets are highly recommended and are available through the Foundation’s website, www.historicstegen.org.
