Theresa Ann Rymer, 75, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 5:29 pm, Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, Illinois.
She was born to the late Cecil M. and Virginia M. (nee Franklin) Erwin, Jr. on August 29, 1950 in Carbondale, Illinois.
Theresa had worked as a nurse for 17 years at Memorial Hospital in Chester, Illinois until her retirement in 2014.
She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and playing with her dog Daisy.

Three Children: Chandra Rayburn of Sparta, IL, Christa (Josh) Howie of Chester, IL, Billy (Bridgette) Rymer of Waterloo, IL; two siblings: Gloria (Robert) Hensdill of the state of Florida and Greg (Chris) Erwin of the state of Missouri; 10 Grandchildren: Devon Eggers, Ethan Rayburn, Alyvia Rayburn, Camrynn Howie, Brooke Howie, Mason Howie, Rush Fortner, Blaire Rymer, Blaike Rymer and Banks Rymer; One Great Grandchild: Amelia Rayburn and Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends
Preceded in Death by: Parents, Husband and Two Brothers – Ron and Steve Erwin
It was Theresa’s wish to be cremated.
