JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Team Missouri completed an unforgettable week at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis, Minnesota, returning home with 18 gold, 15 silver, and 13 bronze medals — 46 medals in all — across individual and team competition in 12 sports.
The delegation of 77 athletes, 15 Unified Partners, and more than two dozen coaches and staff competed June 20–26 at the University of Minnesota and National Sports Center, joining roughly 3,000 athletes from all 50 states for the quadrennial national competition. The full results below include every athlete’s final placement, medal or otherwise.
Among the delegation’s standout contributions off the field of play, Team Missouri athletes Jody Davis and Lynna Hodgson served as athlete reporters throughout the week, covering the Games alongside SOMO’s communications team. The pair filed daily coverage, conducted interviews, and brought a first-person athlete perspective to the stories coming out of Minneapolis, a role that reflects Special Olympics Missouri’s commitment to athlete leadership both in competition and in the community.
“Every single athlete who put on the Team Missouri uniform this week represented our state with heart, determination, and pure joy,” said Susan Shaffer, Head of Delegation. “These medals are wonderful, but what I’ll remember most is watching our athletes support each other on the podium and on the sidelines, all week long.”
