About the new Bloomsdale Elementary Principal
Nathan Kingery, the new principal of Bloomsdale Elementary School has been excited to return to a school he proudly calls home. His early teaching experiences at BLE played a pivotal role in shaping his approach to education and leadership. He joined the SG R-II family in 2010 as a Pre-K through 5th grade music teacher and spent the next 10 years in the classroom before moving into administration. For the past five years, he served as Ste. Genevieve Elementary’s assistant principal.
Kingery has jumped right in to reconnecting with a community that values involvement and partnership in its children’s learning. A firm believer in the power of outdoor and nature-based learning, he is eager to explore the unique opportunities the Bloomsdale campus offers to help students engage with the natural world in meaningful, hands-on ways.
Kingery earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale, his Master of Music degree in Music Education from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, and his Master of Arts in Elementary Administration and his Specialist degree in Education Leadership and Development from Southeast Missouri State University.
In 2023, Mr. Kingery was recognized as the R-II Supervisor of the Year. During his tenure at R-II, he served on the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee and served as the Bloomsdale Elementary PTO Treasurer. He has been a presenter at several conferences, including the Kansas Music Educators Association State Conference, the Tennessee Music Educators Association State Conference and the National Association for Music Education National Conference.
He and his wife, Audra Kingery, have three children— Judah, Amelia, and Elijah, who are all students at Ste. Genevieve Elementary. Audra is a Ste. Genevieve Elementary Counselor.
