A Ste. Genevieve man is facing serious charges after prosecutors say he made a bomb threat against the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged 32-year-old Jeremiah Robinson Wednesday with one count of first-degree making a terrorist threat.
According to the prosecuting attorney’s office, the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center contacted the Shrewsbury Police Department Tuesday regarding a threatening video posted on TikTok targeting the archdiocese on Archbishop May Drive.
“Upon further investigation, the police located the TikTok video that showed a male subject stating that he was two minutes away from the archdiocese and that God had instructed him to use no discernment and that ‘Everyone who walks into that church is guilty and to kill them,’” the prosecuting attorney’s office said.
Prosecutors said a second video was later posted from inside the church’s parking lot. In the video, Robinson turned the phone toward the archdiocese offices and said his instructions were to “leave no one breathing.”
The building was evacuated, and bomb-detection dogs searched the area but found nothing.
Further investigation identified Robinson, who was taken into custody without incident.
He was being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond at the St. Louis County Justice Center.
