STE. GENEVIEVE – Just after 10 a.m. Thursday morning, units from Stations 1 and 2, along with automatic aid from the Ste Genevieve Fire District, were dispatched to 12477 Village Drive for a reported mobile home fire. Village Drive is off Highway 61 north of Ste. Genevieve.
While responding, crews observed a large column of smoke visible from a distance. Upon arrival, firefighters found a mobile home heavily involved in fire. Crews initiated a transitional attack, followed by an aggressive interior fire attack, successfully bringing the fire under control.
The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office was requested to assist with the investigation. The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
However, two animals were lost as a result of the fire.
The American Red Cross was contacted and is assisting the displaced family.
