STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve County School District R-II celebrated its 2025 Homecoming last week. The schools held dress-up days, cheered on our sports teams and celebrated with our community in the Homecoming parade.
After Spirit Night on Wednesday, students cheered on our junior and senior girls during the annual Powderpuff game, which ended with a score of 25-14 in favor of the juniors. The girls and their coaches showed great sportsmanship throughout the evening.

Madden Wolk
During the high school pep assembly Friday afternoon, Madden Wolk was crowned the Ste. Genevieve High School’s 2025 homecoming king. Other members of the court were: freshman attendant Barrett Bowers, sophomore attendant Ashton Damm, junior attendant Micah Scherrer; and king candidates Sawyer Bauman, Elijah Bennett, Luke Ferranto, Justin Slinkard, and Paul Taylor.
Ste. Genevieve High School took on Jefferson R-VII for a 55-14 win on Friday night.

Linley Wehner
During the coronation ceremony at halftime, Linley Wehner was crowned the Ste. Genevieve High School’s 2025 homecoming queen.

Other members of the court are: freshman attendant Alice McConkey, sophomore attendant Aila Wolk, junior attendant Clementine Birkenstock; and queen candidates Jacey Bauman, Emma Gegg, Vivian Kiefer, Cecilia Mooney, and Briana Pfaff. Congratulations to all of the members of the Homecoming Court.

This year, Kennedi Ritter and Logan Schwent were the miniature cheerleader and football player at the game.
The winners of the week’s various competitions were also recognized during the game. The sophomore class won the float competition with the seniors taking second, the freshmen third and juniors fourth.
The week’s festivities concluded with the Homecoming Dance in the Peggy J. Johnson Gymnasium Saturday night.
