JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) announces the arrest of Skyler Brown, 21, of Ste. Genevieve, MO, for child sex crimes following an investigation by the DDCC Special Victims Unit (SVU).
In August 2025, while conducting an online child pornography investigation, SVU investigators obtained a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicating an online user had uploaded child pornography. After conducting a thorough investigation, Brown was identified as the suspect.
On August 27, 2025, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Ste. Genevieve County. Investigators located and interviewed Brown, where evidence of child pornography was seized. As a result, Brown was arrested and transported to the Ste. Genevieve County Jail.
On August 28, 2025, the Ste. Genevieve County Prosecuting Attorney formally charged Brown with five counts of felony Possession of Child Pornography and one count of felony Promoting Child Pornography. He is being held at the Ste. Genevieve County Jail without bond.
The Division of Drug and Crime Control encourages internet users to promptly report to the Patrol or local law enforcement anyone who attempts to engage in unwanted, inappropriate, or sexualized communications with children.
The charges for which the above individual was arrested are mere accusations and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
