Ste. Genevieve County Commission Minutes released

STE. GENEVIEVE – The minutes of the Thursday, June 12th meeting of the Ste. Genevieve County Commission have been released.

 

THURSDAY, JUNE 12, 2025

19TH Day of the April Term.

 

The Commission Met Pursuant to Adjournment.

 

Present were Associate Commissioners Mark Marberry and Cory Ford along with Deputy County Clerk, Michele Gatzemeyer. Presiding Commissioner Ruzicka was absent from today’s meeting; Associate Commissioner Ford was appointed as ‘Interim Presiding Commissioner’ for today’s meeting.

 

THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY INTERIM PRESIDING COMMISSIONER FORD AT 8:15 A.M.

 

THE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING THAT WAS HELD ON MONDAY, JUNE 9, 2025 WERE READ.

 

COMMISSIONER MARBERRY MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE SAID MINUTES AS PRESENTED.

 

COMMISSIONER FORD SECONDED THE MOTION. ALL IN FAVOR. MOTION PASSED.

 

Mr. Scott Schmieder, R&B Foreman, appeared before the Commission to provide report for today’s meeting. Following were the items reported:

 

*’Low Bid’ was recently awarded to MFA Oil for ‘fuel’ for Road & Bridge Department. Delivery already made; Mr. Schmieder provided ‘fuel tickets’. (Fuel Tickets attached to Commission Record Supplement for this Date.)

 

*Commissioner Ford reported that ‘Ditch’ needs to be addressed on Misplay Road for necessary repairs.

 

*Holst Road – County still waiting on updates regarding ‘status’ of this project.

 

*R&B Department currently focusing primarily on ‘Mowing’ and ‘Pipe Placement’.

 

*Mr. Schmieder advised that he was notified of ‘Dead Tree’ that needs to be cut @ Fairgrounds; Mr. Schmieder advised that said ‘tree’ too large for Road & Bridge Department to handle.

 

Work Orders for Courthouse addressed.

Commissioner Ford advised that projects being addressed;

Status update to be provided within next several weeks.

 

The Commission is in receipt of ‘Resignation Letter’ from current member of the Ste. Genevieve County Fair Board. After careful review and consideration, Commissioner Marberry made a ‘Motion’ to approve the ‘resignation’ of Ashley Declue from Ste. Genevieve County Fair Board. Commissioner Ford seconded the ‘Motion’. Commissioner Marberry yea. Commissioner Ford yea. All in favor. Motion

The Ste. Genevieve County Fair Board advised that they wanted to inquire about taking number of Fair Board Members from (9) to (7) in effort to make things more efficient for operation of Fair Board.

 

After a great deal of review/discussion, Commissioner Marberry made a ‘Motion’ to ‘approve’ Amendment 06122025 -Reconstituted and Amended By-Laws of the Ste. Genevieve County Fair Board as presented verifying that the number of Fair Board Members will be downsized from the current number of (9) to (7). Commissioner Ford seconded the ‘Motion’. Commissioner Marberry yea. Commissioner Ford yea. All in favor. Motion passed. (Copy of AMENDMENT 06122025- RECONSTITUTED AND AMENDED BY-LAWS OF THE STE. Commissioner Marberry to ‘re-issue’ the press release that applied and had previously been sent to the media regarding SB190 as it relates to Ste. Genevieve County.

 

Lisa Marschel appeared before the Commission to present ‘Request for Waiving Interest & Penalties’.

 

After careful review and consideration, Commissioner Marberry made a ‘Motion’ to ‘Waive Interest and Penalties’ for the time period of January through March for Account #032502- Central Fleet, Inc. for a “Total” Amount of $103.17 as a result of ‘Error’ as result of actions or inactions of the County.

Commissioner Ford seconded the ‘Motion’. Commissioner Marberry yea. Commissioner Ford yea. All in favor. Motion passed. (Copy of ‘Waiver’ attached to Commission Record Supplement for this Date.)

 

Local resident that resides on Genevieve Church Road inquired about ‘distance’ from road for placement of ‘fence’. Mr. Schmieder obtained information and was provided said detail.

 

Accounts Payable for Date 6/12/2025 in the amount of $96,833.65 were reviewed and approved for payment by the Commission.

 

ADJOURN A Motion was made by Commissioner Ford to adjourn @ 12:00 P.M. Commissioner Marberry seconded the ‘Motion’. Ordered that the Commission adjourn until 6/16/2025.
