Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen meets

STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen met in regular session Thursday evening.

The Consent agenda was approved.

It included three street closures:

Third Street from the alleyway by the Anvil to the south side of the corner of Merchant and Third Street from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, August 23rd for the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

 

Market Street from Second to South Main 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, September 28th for the fifth anniversary of the Ste. Genevieve National Historical Park.

 

Third Street from Market to Merchant and Market Street from Third to Main Street, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, November 1st for the Pecanapalooza Street Festival.

 

A public hearing was held on the proposed rezoning of the 49-acre, housing subdivision on Progress Parkway from single family residential to planned urban development. The bill, No. 4680, approving the change was later given first round approval on a voice vote.

 

A public hearing was held on the annexation petition filed by the Ste. Genevieve Housing Authority, Bill No. 4682, annexing in to the ity limits a small triangular shaped parcel of land bound by Highway 32, West Terrace Drive and Robin Wod Drive The measure was later given first round approval.

 

Resolution 2025-40 authorisiing the city administrator to enter into an assurance agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

 

New Business:

Bill No. 4680, placing stop signs at Maple and Virigina Streets was given first and second round approval. The second vote was 7-1 with Alderman Donovan voting no.
