Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen meeting

STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen met Thursday night.

 

The aldermen approved the consent agenda which included the following items.

 

Resolution 2025-47, declaring certain items of city property to be surplus to the needs of the city.

 

Resolution 2025-48, authorising the mayor to execute a property maintenance agreement with Thomas Jones to maintain flood buyout property.

 

Old Business

 

Bill No. 4685, modifying the initial professional service agreement dated August 12, 2010, was given second round approval on a 7-0 vote, with one absence, Teddy Ross.

 

Bill No. 4686, a budget amendment, was given second round approval on a 7-0 vote, with one absence.

 

Bill No. 4687, adopting the annual budget of the city of Ste. Genevieve, was given final approval on a 7-0 vote with one absence.

 

Bill No. 4688, authorising the mayor to enter into an agreement with the Ste. Genevieve Fire Protection  District to lease and transfer certain assets of the city of Ste. Genevieve to the fire protection district was given final approval on a 7-0 vote with one absence.

 

New business

 

Bill No. 4689, suthorising the mayor to enter into an agreement between the city of Ste. Genevieve and the Ste. Genevieve Community Access Television Board to provide programming on Spectrum Cable TV Channels 990 and 991 was given first round approval on a voice vote.

 

Bill No. 4690, authorizing 50-feet of  handicapped parking space at 10 South Main Street on the Merchant Street side of the building, was given first round approval on a voice vote.

 

Bill No. 4691, authorizing the issuance and collection of special tax bills, levying special assessments against the lots, tracts and pieces of land for sidewalk improvements was approved on a voice vote.

 

The regular session was followed by a work session with the following items of business:

 

Stop signs at St. Mary’s Road and Seraphin

 

Request for stop sign removal on north and southbound St. Mary’s Road at Seraphin Street. Decision was put aside until after the new Fourth Street Bridge over the South Gabouri Creek is completed.

 

Streets for 2026 Prop S repairs. Postponed.

 

The aldermen also heard an update on a splash pad. Apparently water pressure is insufficient at the old nursing home site near Pere Marquette Park, there is noise and lime issues at the tennis courts at Pere Marquette Park, leaving the former Khory League field the best alternative at the present time.
