CDs 3679 & 4551 are up for renewal next week.
Grants
We received another $105,876 for the GEMT grant in July for a total of $217,260 for the year.
We are currently gathering the information for the period ending June 2026.
SAMHSA grant was applied for in July through Community Asset Builders. Beth applied for
the Community Paramedicine grant a few weeks ago.
We received confirmation from MEMSA today that we received the approval of the EMS/MIH
Rural Healthcare grant. The grant pays $50,000 for EMT training. A minimum of 15 students
must be enrolled per semester to receive the grant. With the high school students and adding the
class for the fire districts, we should meet the qualifications.
We had a tire blow out on a transfer. JPAD finished the transport. All is good between two
agencies. It was the inside dual tire which is hard to watch. Dawn and Dale have been taken
care of the maintenance issues. Tires are done through Muellers Tire.
Beth Ryan $2000 check is for her deductible reimbursement which is the agreement for
employees with our insurance through the District. Either you get a plan with the deductible
reimbursement or you get money put in an HSA plan. The Bill Fischer check was to take out
three dead trees at the old House 3

Trucks & Equipment
8957 is currently in Columbia with a leak in the windshield along with a problem with the AC
condenser. The condenser is not draining properly. The windshield is possibly an improper
installation or seal. The windshield will either be fixed by Ford under warranty or replaced
through Safelite.
8917 has an oxygen leak and will be the next to go to Columbia. ARV want it at their shop.
They have 16 hours in labor costs already. They will work with us on the costs when we get it
figured out.
8927 needs to go to Ford. The problem is with the transmission in it. It doesn’t shift correctly.
It is in need of Ford module programming.
8977 has the turbo possibly going out. If it sits and idles, it stalls. This truck is due to be sent
for a remount in December.
The gator needs electrical work. The battery is fine but it will not hold a charge. We are going
to pull the old radio out and rewire. We may put in a master disconnect with a main on/off
switch.
911
The digital radio system is working well. Zello is still not working Zello is an app on your
cellphone that allows us to use the phone as a walkie. We need to talk Chuckie Farr at Dispatch.
Staff
We still have one open full-time open spot. We would like to fill it with a paramedic to keep all
crews at four medics and two EMTs. Two new PRN EMTs have been hired. One will be a
paramedic soon. This helps our schedule as we do not have many PRN medics.
One full-time medic is due to go out on maternity leave in November. Another is on out on leave
currently.
House 1
We had an AC problem on the crew side last Thursday. We called multiple agencies before
finding Lundy Heating & Cooling out of Perryville who came and fixed it within a few hours
It was a control board issue. He re-routed and had it go through the thermostat. He also
submitted a bid for two new AC units at House 1. Shuh & Sons have been asked to submit a
quote on new systems as well. A recommendation was to get at least three bids before
approving the purchase.
House 2
The flooring for House 2 has been approved. We need to get with Richardet Flooring again
for a current price. We will also get at least one other bid possibly from Busenbark or
Hopkins. Once we get pricing, we will email the bids to the board for approval.
Training
Dawn and Beth are scheduled to attend the MAA Leadership/Administrator Training at the Lake
of the Ozarks 9/29 through 10/1.
ACLS & PALS training is scheduled with Air Evac next month.
Six students are enrolled in the EMT class at the high school. An adult EMT class is scheduled
for January, February and March for Ste. Genevieve City and County Fire Districts.
Patient Care
We received a concern from the spouse of a patient who died of a pulmonary embolism. She is
questioning if proper procedures were followed. The medical director is stating that nothing else
could have been done. She followed the ambulance and is questioning why we didn’t run lights
and sirens to hospital. There is no shoulder on the roads in that part of the county and it would
just make it more dangerous to run lights. She asked why we did not do CPR. The patient was
still alert when he was with us. He coded shortly after we dropped him off at the hospital. He
was on an IV and monitor and was stabilized with us.
Insurances
We received the quote & bill for the renewal of the cyber insurance at $3,111 for the year. This
is down about $300 from last year.
The Stonetrust workers compensation representative was here for a meeting today. We are on
the 2nd year with this company. The annual premium paid in April was $30,937. They
performed an audit on last year and determined that we were short according to our payroll and
we paid another $12,075 in July. We just received another billing in August for $10,378 which
is to cover the remaining premium for this year so we are not short for the current year’s audit.
This is still cheaper than our previous carrier, Missouri Employers Mutual who as $52,000
annually a few years ago before we switched. Stonetrust is not approving the only workers
comp claim that we have submitted to them for a hernia repair. They are to reopen the claim and
try to get it approved.

House 3 – Sale of the 10774 Highway 32 Building
The deed to transfer the ownership of the property was signed last week. The electric was
transferred to the new owner. Insurance was cancelled from our policy. The check was
received. The check will be deposited into our checking account.
CJ will check with Jerry at Bloomsdale Bank on the recommendation to close the loan and on
how to handle the money in the two CDs that are due next week. We will have Jerry come to the
September meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
There are 10 MIFIs to be removed from the AT&T billing. Dawn was able to talk to a
representative today to get started on getting devices removed.
