Stanley Vincent Ryba, 86, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026 at SIH Memorial Hospital Carbondale.
He was born December 26, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Stanley Joseph Ryba and Helen (Yudis) Ryba.
Stanley loved his country and served in the United States Army Reserves during the Vietnam Era.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Stanley graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture and worked as a cattle purchaser. He later went on to work as a deckhand and eventually became a pilot for a tugboat on the Mississippi and Ohio rivers. Stanley enjoyed stockcar racing, spending time with animals and watching westerns. He always wanted to be a cowboy. Stanley was a great father and an incredible grandfather to his grandsons.
Survivors include his daughter, Nadine (Dennis) Cochran of Barnhart, MO; ex-wife, Patricia Ryba of Pevely, MO; sister, Elizabeth (Alfred) Lais of Rochester, MN; three grandchildren, Wesley (Curt Falls) Ryba of New Castle, PA, Devon (Janae Harrison) Ryba, Dean (Grace Volansky) Cochran of St. Louis, MO; great-grandchild, Makhi Harrison of Pevely, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside Service will be at 11:00 am Friday, March 20, 2026 at Home Cemetery in Perryville with Deacon John Darin officiating.
Burial will be at Home Cemetery in Perryville.
