6:00 PM
- Be it Remembered: A regular meeting of the St. Mary Board of Aldermen was called to order by the Honorable Mayor Adam Bequette on Monday, December 29, 2025 beginning at 6:00 PM at City Hall located at 782 3rd Street, St. Mary, Missouri 63673.
- Pledge of Allegiance: The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.
- Roll Call: Aldermen answering the roll call were Alderman Rose Rosenzweig, Alderman Dr. Zen Duda, and Alderman Kathy Bergmann . Quorum present.
- Approval of Agenda: Motion to approve agenda as printed by Alderman Bergmann, second Alderman Duda, all in favor Alderman Bergmann (aye), Alderman Rosenzwieg (aye), Alderman Duda (aye), motion carried
- Consent Agenda: motion to approve by Alderman Duda, second by Alderman Kathy Bergmann. Alderman Duda (aye), Alderman Bergmann (aye), and Alderman Rosenzweig (aye), motion carried.

- City Clerk to pay previously appropriate expenses as they come due as allied by budget.
- Public Forum: Mayor requested resident Dylan Dauster to appear at the meeting to address the trailer incident on Cemetery Road. Mr. Dauster was not present. Motion made by Alderman Duda to revoke Mr. Dauster’s permits to move trailer on to the property due to property damage and improper notification by moving company to the city, the trailer is to be removed from its current location which is impeding a utility right of way. Mr. Dauster will be issued a letter giving 30 days to remove the trailer. Motion seconded by Alderman Bergmann. All in favor, Alderman Duda (aye), Alderman Bergmann (aye), Alderman Rosenzweig (aye). Motion carried.
- Unfinished Business:
- Jokerst INC – continues work on culverts and other roadway projects within the city limits. Alderman Duda has requested a map of locations being worked on for residents to be posted at City Hall.
- New Business:
- Ste. Genevieve County adopted Senate Bill 190 – Senior Tax Freeze – Bill and information are available at City Hall. Information is also available on Ste. Genevieve County Assessor’s website.
- Status on Park bidding – Mayor Bequette has been working on reaching out to vendors for information regarding play equipment for a new park, he gave Alderman Rosenzweig a catalog to research play equipment. Mayor Bequette is anticipating FEMA funding to come through and there are funds from an insurance claim to help support a new park.
- Beussink, Hey, Roe & Stroder LLC – auditor – board presented with letter from the auditor about their services and the cost of those services which is $15,000.00 for the 2025 audit City Clerk Jessica Gunter has reached out to MML recommended CPAs for comparison bids.
- Delta Regional Authority grant announcement – The city was awarded $500,000.00 with an additional $9,000.00 for administrative fees to paid to SEMO RPC which will help with us with financial oversight of the various projects. The grant money is to be spent on repairs and stabilization of our wastewater treatment facility. The grant will also address lift station conversion to gravity flow systems and biologic ecofriendly treatment solutions.
- Department Reports:
Emergency Management – Mayor Adam Bequette – continues to work with FEMA for road, park and sewer plant repairs. Currently Jokerst Inc. is replacing culverts throughout the city.
Police Department – Alderman Zen Duda – Nothing to report
Street Department – Alderman Zen Duda – Jokerst Inc. repairs
Concerns regarding speeding on Third Street. Motion made by Alderman Duda to purchase speed bumps for Third Street, seconded by Alderman Bergmann. Alderman Duda (aye), Alderman Bergmann (aye), Alderman Rosenzweig (aye) motion carried. Alderman Duda has offered to pay for ½ of the cost of the speed bumps.
Water/Wastewater Department- Mayor Adam Bequette – Frankie Ullman
Sewer plant is currently running efficiently
Cedar Street sewer discharge leak, DNR was contacted
2 Grinder float repairs done
Currently there is one grinder that has already been replaced twice and must be pulled for repair again due to resident negligence. Per ordinance the resident will be responsible for the repairs.
Water
Water samples have been good
Hydrant flushing done due to resident complaints of milky sulfur smelling water per DNR recommendation
Currently watching for a potential leak, readings have been inconsistent, Frankie Ullman has been in contact with Ste. Genevieve Public Water Supply and is monitoring carefully.
Park & Cemetery Department – Alderman Rosenzwieg – nothing to report
