The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) announces the arrest of Jeremy R. Perrien, 45, of Sikeston, MO, in connection to the June 29, 2025, death of his 31-year-old wife, Shelby K. Perrien.
On July 17, 2026, the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney requested DDCC investigate a shooting death incident which occurred on Interstate 55, in Scott County, MO. DDCC investigators followed up on several investigative leads during the investigation and collected evidence which was forwarded to the Patrol’s Crime Laboratory for further analysis. During the investigation, evidence was reviewed/evaluated and investigators developed probable cause connecting Perrien to the death of his wife and tampering with physical evidence. A probable cause statement was forwarded to the Missouri Attorney General’s Office for consideration of charges.
On August 20, 2026, the Missouri Attorney General formally charged Perrien with 2nd Degree Murder, Harassment – 1st Degree, Domestic Assault – 2nd Degree, and two counts of Tampering with Physical Evidence in Felony Prosecution. A subsequent warrant was issued for his arrest.
On August 21, 2026, Operation Relentless Pursuit officers and DDCC investigators located Perrien and took him into custody at approximately 7:25 a.m. Perrien was subsequently transported to the Stoddard County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
The charges for which the above individual was arrested are a mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
