STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. — A single-vehicle crash of a sport utility side-by-side left three teenagers injured Monday night in Ste. Genevieve County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Smith Road near Highway D. The report said the 16-year-old boy, who was driving a 2022 Can-Am Commander XT side-by-side, slid off the road and struck a tree.
The highway patrol said there were two passengers on the side-by-side. The driver and a 16-year-old female passenger were taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital for serious and moderate injuries, respectively. An 18-year-old male passenger was airlifted to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment of serious injuries.
None of the people in the vehicle were wearing seatbelts or other safety devices.
