SGHS students win 1st and 2nd in Voice of Democracy contest

STE. GENEVIEVE – Two Ste. Genevieve High School students were among those participating in the VFW Post 2210 and VFW Auxiliary’s annual Voice of Democracy Contest.

SGHS Junior Madilyn Shuffler placed first in the Voice of Democracy Oral Essay Contest for grades 9 – 12, and Luci Blankenship came in second. The two won $200 and $150, respectively.

 

The theme of this year’s oral essay was, “How Are You Showing Patriotism and Support for Our Country?”
