STE. GENEVIEVE – Two Ste. Genevieve High School students were crowned junior attendants at the 2026 King’s Ball Saturday.

Corbin Gray and Camille Melahn were selected as junior attendants after Gray discovered the traditional bean in his slice of King’s Cake, a long-standing custom associated with the celebration.
The honor connects students to one of Ste. Genevieve’s most cherished cultural traditions, rooted in history and community storytelling.

The King’s Ball is an annual celebration in Ste. Genevieve that continues a centuries-long tradition tied to the season of Epiphany. At the local event, participants dress in 18th- and 19th-century attire and dance traditional contra-dances to live music performed by L’Esprit Créole, led by Dennis Stroughmatt.
Ste. Genevieve High School congratulates Corbin and Camille on this special recognition and for representing the school in a meaningful community tradition!
