SGCMH medical staff announces 2026 scholarship recipients

STE. GENEVIEVE, MO – Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital (SGCMH) Medical Staff is pleased to announce Kennedi Fischer and Lauren Wolk as the two recipients of its annual $2,000 scholarships. Fischer graduated from Ste. Genevieve High School and Wolk graduated from Valle Catholic High School.

 

 

Kennedi is the daughter of Patrick and Jamie Fischer, and plans to attend the University of Missouri, Columbia to pursue a degree in Health Science/Physician Assistant. 

 

 

Lauren is the daughter of Jennifer and Jason Wolk, and plans to attend SIU Edwardsville and pursue a degree in Nursing/Nurse Practitioner.

 

This year the medical staff selected two students who plan to study in the medical field in an effort to help continue their education on the collegiate level.

 

The SGCMH Medical Staff has a long-standing history of service to the community and students achieving in healthcare. Applications were accepted earlier in the year. 

 

SGCMH Chief of Medical Staff, Erika Leung, MD, MSc presented checks to the two and offered a kind message.

 

 “We expect each person to be an outstanding citizen and make important contributions within their family and community,” commented Dr. Leung. “We join their families, friends and teachers in congratulating each of them on their achievement.”

 

Congratulations and best of luck to the scholarship recipients, we look forward to possibly seeing them serve our hospital one day. A special thanks to the medical staff who graciously donates a $2,000.00 scholarship each year to students from both local schools.
