ServMO Summit Thursday, July 9 in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU – ServMO invites community members to participate in the final in-person regional summit in Cape Girardeau on Thursday, July 9 hosted by Commissioner Dr. Robin Smith. This summit provides the opportunity for community members to share input on the future of volunteerism and service in the State of Missouri. Participants will help identify state priorities, themes, and areas of emphasis among all streams of service and volunteerism. Visit the Cape Girardeau summit’s registration page to sign-up and learn more.

The development of a State Service Plan is a federal funding requirement, established in 1997 by the National and Community Service Trust Act. It requires that a plan be developed through an open and public process to garner participation and input from national service programs within the state and other interested members of the public.

Previously held 2026 ServMO Summit locations include Kansas City, St. Louis, and Joplin. A virtual summit will be offered on Thursday, August 6 for anyone unable to attend an in-person summit. Visit the virtual summit’s registration page to sign-up and learn more.

Missouri’s State Service Plan serves as a strategic roadmap for promoting national service and volunteering while building a resilient infrastructure of high-quality service programs and support services.
