JEFFERSON CITY – ServMO is pleased to announce the availability of AmeriCorps Missouri Planning Grants to enable organizations to plan a proposed AmeriCorps program in Missouri. From January to June 2027, selected organizations will use planning grants to prepare to compete for an AmeriCorps program grant in the subsequent 2027-2028 operational grant cycle.
Available planning grant awards may not exceed $75,000. Submit the AmeriCorps Missouri Planning Grant Notice of Intent (NOI) by August 14, 2026, at 5 p.m. Applications are now open and due by September 25, 2026, at 5 p.m. To assist grantees with the application, a technical assistance recording will be available on August 20, 2026 to everyone who completed a NOI.
Priority areas are as follows:
- Organizations leading service projects in rural communities, communities with concentrated poverty, and serving historically underrepresented and underserved individuals.
- Programs that prioritize civic engagement, social cohesion, neighboring, and/or connection initiatives.
- Programs that create workforce pathways for AmeriCorps members including deliberate training, certifications, and hiring preferences or support.
- Geographic areas of the state that are currently underserved by the existing AmeriCorps Missouri grant portfolio.
- Programs that support evidence-based interventions addressing challenges in the AmeriCorps priority areas of environmental stewardship and/or veterans and military families
- Existing AmeriCorps programs exploring new program designs and/or engaged in succession planning.
