Scott A. Wilson

A private family service will be held at a future date for 41-year-old Scott A. Wilson of Baldwin, Illinois, formerly of Alton, Illinois, who passed away at 1:44 am, Sunday, February 22, 2026, at his residence.

He was born  September 11, 1984 in St. Louis, Mo. to Maurice and Monisa (nee Frye) Wilson who both preceded him in death.

He married Gay-Ann Blondell February 14, 2017, in Wood River, Illinois; she survives in Baldwin, Illinois.

He is also survived by his grandmother: Carol Frye of Alton, Illinois; two brothers: Josh (Sarah) Betz  and Chris (Katie) Wilson both of Godfrey, Il; four nieces and nephews: Ashlyn Betz, Emma Wilson, Alison Wilson and Trent Wilson; a great niece: Adeline Waters; his dog: Briggs and many extended family members, cousins, and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his grandfather: Rollin Frye, and an aunt: Carlisa Allen.

Scott was a self-employed handyman and also enjoyed working on small engines.

He was truly at home outdoors, especially when he was by the water. Some of his happiest moments were spent fishing and enjoying the quiet of the river; his favorite getaway was St. Francois State Park, a place that held special meaning for him and Gay-Ann. A man of many interests, Scott was a dedicated collector of hats, sunglasses, and pocket knives—always prepared for whatever the day brought.

When he wasn’t by the river, you could often find him around a pool table or enjoying his eclectic music collection, which ranged from 90’s alternative to blues and country rock.

Above all, Scott was known for his fun-loving spirit; he loved to joke around and had a knack for bringing a smile to those around him.

It was Scott’s wish to be cremated.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
