Red Bud, Ill. woman hurt in St. Charles County, Mo. traffic crash

JEFFERSON CITY – A 23-year-old Red Bud, Illinois woman was one of two persons who suffered moderate injuries in a traffic crash on I-64 in St. Charles County Thursday evening.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the woman was taken to SSM Health St Joseph Hospital-Lake St. Louis by the St. Charles County Ambulance District.

 

The second person hurt in the crash, a 61-year-old woman from Hawk Poiint was taken to the same hospital by the St. Charles County Ambulance District.

 

The patrol report states the Hawk Point woman was inattentive and was following a 2018 Nissan Sentra too closely when the Sentra stopped for traffic congestion. Her vehicle, a 2018 GMC Terrain struck the rear of the Sentra, knocking it into a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder driven by a 37-year-old Wentzville man. He was not hurt. 

 

The Sentra and the Terrain were totaled in the crash, while the Pathfinder had moderate damage. All three were towed by Superior Towing.

 

The crash happened about 8:45 p.m. east of Lake Saint Louis Boulevard.

 

All three drivers were buckled up.
